Since the mind can process words much faster than one can speak the words, they have to slow down the process. However a left handed person has a tendency to read from right to left.

The key here is that the words are printed from right to left, and the pronunciation followed the same sequence. This saved time because they did not have to wait until we finished to re-assure them that we actually were reading.

When the teacher was teaching us to read, they could listen to us and be assured we were reading. That is we whisper the words to ourselves so that when we "heard" the word we would remember what it meant. Most, if not all of us, learned to read phonetically. Left handed people tend to approach reading quite differently from right handed people. Everyone is "a buzz" over the fact that President Obama is left handed. Ian Gillies can be reached also at have a theory that most, if not all, people who are left handed are also rapid readers. And for less than $50 CAN,we can add a web camera. We continue to look for cheaper and cheaper long distance telephone rates without realizing that computer to computer conversations with a microphone and a speaker via SKYPE are free. No wonder we become so skeptical about those wonderful advertisements. Maybe someone can enlighten me on what is so special about what Microsoft might offer? It could just as easily have been accomplished if one person was in Toronto (where I live), another in Paris, another in Dubai and another in Nigeria. I conducted a rapid reading course with four people in the Netherlands, each of whom was at a computer in their homes. It is now possible to put several people anywhere in the world (almost)in instant contact with one another using the conference facilities of SKYPE. I have to wonder what the people at Ebay, who own SKYPE, think of all of this. The advertisement would lead you to believe that some very special technical programs are necessary to allow you to speak to employees at the moment you need them and that Microsoft can do that for you.

There is a television advertisement in Toronto for Microsoft about the importance having instant communcation with people within a company when employees are located all over the world.
